RAIDS Browser Extension (Beta Terms)
These Beta Terms (the “Terms”) govern your use of the RAIDS browser extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store for Google Chrome and compatible Chromium-based browsers (the “Extension”).
The Extension is a beta service provided free of charge by RAIDS AI Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus under number HE 466437, whose registered office is at Nikis 26, TRANSAFRICA, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1086 Nicosia, Cyprus (“RAIDS”, “we”, “us”).
Registration is currently available for individuals, using the Extension personally or for their trade, business, craft, or professions, including employees and business owners registering in their own name. Some clauses apply differently depending on which you are, and those clauses say so: they begin “If you are a Consumer” or “If you are a Business User”. Clauses that do not say so apply to everyone. Clause 1 explains which you are. Organisational accounts may be offered later under separate arrangements.
Some of our other documents identified in clause 3 continue to apply to the Extension.
Please read clause 12.1 before you install. The Extension is pre-release software. That clause sets out specific ways in which it falls short of what you would be entitled to expect from a finished product. When you install the Extension before use begins, we ask you to accept those specific points separately, in addition to accepting these Terms.
1. Definitions and who you are
“AI System” means a third party artificial intelligence service that you access through your browser and that the Extension lists as supported.
“Consumer” means an individual who accepts these Terms for purposes which are wholly or mainly outside that individual’s trade, business, craft or profession.
“Business User” means an individual who accepts these Terms for purposes predominantly relating to their trade, business, craft or profession. These Terms do not currently provide for an entity to register as the account holder.
Where you use the Extension for both personal and professional purposes and the professional purpose is not predominant, you are treated as a Consumer under these Terms.
“Extension Data” means the prompts you submit to, and the responses you receive from, a supported AI System, which the Extension collects, after you have agreed to the prominent data disclosure, while the Extension is enabled in your browser’s extension settings.
“Output” means the monitoring results, scores, flags, reports and other analysis generated from Extension Data.
“Feedback” means any suggestion, comment, bug report, rating or other input you give us about the Extension.
“Testing Period” means the period during which we make the Extension available as a beta service.
2. What the Extension does
2.1 The Extension observes your interactions with supported AI Systems and analyses them for indications of rogue or anomalous behaviour by those AI Systems.
2.2 The Extension collects Extension Data after your agreement to the prominent data disclosure and while enabled in your browser’s extension settings, and only on supported AI Systems. It does not collect content from other websites, and it does not collect your general browsing activity. There is no switch on/off inside the Extension. In Chrome, use Manage extensions to enable or disable RAIDS and in other Chromium-based browser, us that browser’s extension management settings.
2.3 The Extension’s ability to remove personal data from Extension Data is limited. It masks certain identifiers, such as email addresses, but it cannot reliably remove names, or references that could identify a person from context. The Extension transmits prompts and responses to our servers, where we store the raw content in our database together with the Output generated from it, so that you can review each sample and give us Feedback on it. We also convert that content, as received, into numerical representations, which we use to generate Output and to train our models as described in clause 7.3.
Where masking has been applied, the embeddings are derived from the masked content; other personal data in the content is not removed before this conversion. Authorised personnel can read the actual prompts and responses, although there is no routine human review and access is restricted as explained in our Privacy Policy. Please take this into account when deciding what to type while the Extension runs.
2.4 Our use and handling of Extension data, including information received from Google APIs or other integrations adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How these Terms fit with our other documents
3.1 Our Privacy Policy at https://www.raidsai.ai/legal/privacy-policy explains how we process personal data, and the section “RAIDS Browser Extension (Beta)” in it deals specifically with the Extension. Please read that section before you install.
3.2 Our Acceptable Use Policy at https://www.raidsai.ai/legal/acceptable-use-policy applies to your use of the Extension.
3.3 Our Beta Program Agreement governs pre-release features of the RAIDS platform and does not apply to the Extension. These Terms govern the Extension instead.
3.4 Our Terms of Service and Terms of Use govern the RAIDS platform and our website. If you also use the platform or the website, those documents continue to govern that use. They do not govern your use of the Extension.
3.5 Our Cookie Policy concerns cookies on our website. The Extension does not use cookies to collect Extension Data.
3.6 If there is a conflict in relation to the Extension, these Terms prevail, except that nothing in these Terms overrides a mandatory right you have under consumer protection law or data protection law.
4. Eligibility and acceptance
4.1 You must be 18 or over to use the Extension.
4.2 During registration, before you use the Extension, you must expressly accept these Terms and acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. We also present a prominent disclosure in the product’s registration interface explaining what data the Extension collects and how it is used, including that we use it to train our models and that you may object to that use, and ask for your agreement before collection begins.
4.3 You register and accept these Terms in your own name. Your use for work does not by itself bind your employer or another entity, create an organisational account, or make us that entity’s processor. Any future registration on behalf of an entity will require a separate arrangement and appropriate authority.
4.4 If you use the Extension in connection with your employment or engagement by another person, you are responsible for making sure that you are permitted to do so under that person’s policies.
5. Licence and permitted use
5.1 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Extension during the Testing Period, in order to monitor AI Systems you use and to give us Feedback.
5.2 You must not:
(a) copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative works of the Extension, except to the extent applicable law allows this and we may not exclude it;
(b) use the Extension to monitor an AI System, or an account on an AI System, that you are not authorised to access;
(c) circumvent any technical restriction, or access the Extension other than through the interfaces we provide;
(d) use the Extension in a way that breaches the terms of any AI System; or
(e) use the Extension to build or improve a competing product.
5.3 The Extension is provided free of charge during the Testing Period. We are not obliged to make it generally available. If we do, continued use will require you to accept the terms that apply to the generally available service.
6. Your responsibilities for Extension Data
6.1 You choose what you type into an AI System while the Extension is enabled. Please disable the Extension in the relevant manage extension settings (including Chrome’s Manage extensions) before any conversation you do not want collected and analysed.
6.2 Please do not include in a conversation while the Extension is running:
(a) personal data about other people, beyond what is necessary for what you are doing;
(b) special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9(1) of the GDPR, unless you have given the separate explicit consent we ask for in the Extension;
(c) information you owe a duty of confidentiality to keep confidential, including client, patient or employer confidential information; or
(d) payment card details, government identification numbers, or account credentials.
6.3 The Extension is not designed for, and must not be used in, production environments or for safety-critical purposes.
7. Extension Data, Output and our models
7.1 As between you and us, you keep any rights you have in Extension Data. We own the Extension, the Output, and our models, algorithms, dashboards, report formats and other underlying technology.
7.2 You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use Extension Data in order to provide the Extension to you, and to operate, test, secure and troubleshoot it during the Testing Period. This includes storing raw prompts and responses together with the Output, so that you can review them and give Feedback, and converting Extension Data and other data into derived representations where that is necessary to generate Output.
7.3 We use Extension Data, and the embeddings derived from it, to train, evaluate and improve our own models that support the Extension’s AI monitoring function, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for that purpose. We train our models on numerical vectors, not on the text of your prompts and responses. We do not select personal data for training but, because the Extension cannot reliably remove it (see clause 2.3), personal data that remains in Extension Data after masking will be reflected in the embeddings used for training.
Our Privacy Policy explains the lawful basis for this processing and your right to object to it at any time, which you can exercise by emailing support@raidsai.ai or switching it off in Settings. If you object, we will stop using your Extension Data for model training from then on. All uses, including uses of derived or anonymised data, remain subject to the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements. We do not use Extension Data to train third party generative AI models, we do not sell Extension Data, and we do not use it for advertising.
7.4 Output is an indication, not a determination. It may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for checking Output before you rely on it or act on it, and for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
8. Feedback
8.1 We would welcome your Feedback, but you are not obliged to give it.
8.2 If you are a Business User: you assign to us all rights, title and interest in Feedback. Where an assignment is not possible, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, disclose and exploit Feedback without restriction or payment.
8.3 If you are a Consumer: you keep any rights you have in your Feedback, and you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use it for any purpose connected with our products and services. We may use it without payment and without naming you.
8.4 Anything we develop using Feedback, including any improvement or derivative work, belongs to us.
9. Confidentiality
9.1 Non-public information we give you about unreleased features, performance results and related materials is our confidential information. You must not disclose or publish it, or publish any benchmark of the Extension, without our prior written consent.
10. Availability, changes and support
10.1 The Extension is a beta service. We may change, suspend, limit or withdraw it, or any of its features, during the Testing Period, without prior notice or permission.
10.2 We do not commit to any level of availability, and we are not obliged to provide general technical support, maintenance, updates or bug fixes during the Testing Period.
11. Third party AI Systems
11.1 The AI Systems you monitor are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them, and your use of them is a matter between you and them.
11.2 The Extension may stop working, or work incorrectly, if an AI System changes its interface or restricts access by extensions.
12. Beta status and what we say about the Extension
12.1 Specific points you are asked to accept separately. We specifically inform you that, unlike a finished product, the Extension:
(a) may contain errors, may produce inaccurate or incomplete Output, and may fail to detect behaviour it is designed to detect;
(b) may be unavailable or interrupted, and may be discontinued;
(c) may not work with every version of Chrome or another Chromium-based browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, or Opera, or every AI System, and may stop working when those change; installation from the Chrome Web Store on another browser may require enabling extensions from other stores;
(d) will not receive assured updates, support or bug fixes; and
(e) removes personal data from Extension Data only to the limited extent described in clause 2.3.
During registration, before you use the Extension, we ask you to accept these points expressly and separately from your acceptance of these Terms as a whole.
12.2 Extension and the Output are provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, non-infringement and quiet enjoyment. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights under mandatory consumer protection law, and if anything in these Terms conflicts with those rights, those rights prevail.
13. Our liability
13.1 If you are a Business User, to the maximum extent permitted by law:
(a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, even if we were advised that such loss was possible;
(b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Extension and the Output does not exceed EUR 100;
(c) those limits apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose; and
(d) we have no obligation to defend, indemnify or hold you harmless in respect of any claim relating to the Extension or the Output, including any claim that they infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited;
13.2 If you are a Consumer,
(a) we do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited;
(b) subject to (a), we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you installed the Extension, or for loss you suffer because you used the Extension for the purposes of a business;
(c) we have no obligation to defend, indemnify or hold you harmless in respect of any claim relating to the Extension or the Output, including any claim that they infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights; and
(d) subject to (a) and considering that the Extension is supplied free of charge, our total liability to you is limited to EUR 100.
14. Term, suspension and termination
14.1 These Terms apply from your express acceptance during registration until they end under this clause.
14.2 You may end these Terms at any time by uninstalling the Extension.
14.3 We may end these Terms, or suspend your access to the Extension, at any time.
14.4 When these Terms end, your licence ends, you must stop using the Extension and uninstall it. Disabling or uninstalling it does not automatically close your account or delete data we already hold. To request deletion of your account and/or personal data, email support@raidsai.ai to open a support ticket, or contact info@raidsai.ai. We handle requests and retain or delete data as described in our Privacy Policy and as required by applicable law.
14.5 The Extension is supplied free of charge and you may uninstall it at any time, so you do not need to rely on a right of withdrawal in order to stop using it.
14.6 Clauses 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16 and 17 survive the end of these Terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
15.1 We may change these Terms during the Testing Period.
15.2 If you are a Consumer: we will notify you in the Extension or by email of any change that materially affects your rights or obligations, and give you reasonable notice before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the change, you may end these Terms by uninstalling the Extension.
15.3 If you are a Business User: changes take effect when we post them, and your continued use of the Extension after that constitutes acceptance.
15.4 We will prominently disclose any change to our data practices, and where a change needs your consent, we will ask for it before the change applies to you.
16. Governing law and disputes
16.1 If you are a Business User: these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of the Republic of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to them.
16.2 If you are a Consumer: these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provision of the law of the country in which you are habitually resident that would apply in the absence of this clause. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the Republic of Cyprus or in the courts of the country in which you are habitually resident, and we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country in which you are habitually resident.
17. General
17.1 Each party shall comply with all applicable laws, including export control and economic sanctions regulations. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Extension as necessary to comply with law.
17.2 We may assign or transfer these Terms to an affiliate, or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If you are a Consumer, an assignment will not reduce your rights under these Terms. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent.
17.3 If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.
17.4 A failure or delay by either party in exercising a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
17.5 These Terms, together with the documents listed in clause 3 that apply to the Extension, are the entire agreement between us in relation to the Extension. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and, if you are a Consumer, nothing in it limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.
17.6 You can contact us at info@raidsai.ai or support@raidsai.ai, or by post at Nikis 26, TRANSAFRICA, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1086 Nicosia, Cyprus.
